Materials & finishes
Every coating, print method, board and flute grade we work with, so you can build a box that looks right and performs on the route.
Water-based clear coat that dries fast and protects print. Choose gloss or matte.
Clear coat cured instantly under UV light for a hard, bright gloss or matte surface.
High-gloss UV applied only to chosen areas, like a logo, for contrast against matte.
A velvety, tactile coating that makes a box feel premium in the hand.
Clear varnish laid down on press with the inks, in gloss, satin or matte.
A thin protective film bonded to the surface for extra durability and richer color.
Scuff- and fingerprint-resistant film for boxes that get handled a lot.
A smooth, peach-skin feel film in satin or matte for upscale packaging.
Plate-based CMYK printing with sharp detail and the lowest unit cost on large runs.
Plate-free printing straight from your file, ideal for short runs and no-minimum orders.
Inks cured instantly with UV light for vivid color and a glossy finish.
Pigment carried in water instead of solvent, our go-to for food packaging.
Plant-oil based inks that give bright color with a lower environmental impact.
Traditional petroleum-based inks with strong color, used where eco inks won't do.
Pre-mixed spot colors that match your brand exactly from run to run. Add one or two to CMYK.
Metallic spot inks for a gold, silver or copper look without foil.
Metallic or holographic foil pressed on with heat for a shiny logo or border.
Foil applied in-line on press with a UV adhesive, so it can be printed over in color.
A die pushes the board up from behind to give your logo a raised, tactile feel.
The reverse of embossing: the design is pressed into the surface for a recessed look.
Embossing lined up exactly with a printed element so the artwork stands off the box.
Embossing and foil stamping together for a raised, metallic 3D effect.
A die-cut window sealed with clear film so customers can see what's inside.
Bleached white board coated on one side for crisp print and premium finishes.
Bleached white board coated on both sides, for boxes printed inside and out.
Recycled-fiber board with a white coated top for good print at a lower cost.
Coated one side and made from recycled pulp for brands that want the greenest board.

Dyed-through black kraft for bold, dramatic packaging, great with foil.

Built for real kitchens
A pizza box has a harder job than most food packaging: hold a hot, heavy, oily product flat, keep the crust from steaming itself soft, and still look like your brand when it lands on the table.
Built for your business
A considered pizza box works across dine-in leftovers, takeaway, delivery, catering and events.

Sizes, styles and specifications
A box that's undersized crushes the crust edge when the lid closes, and one that's oversized lets the pizza slide and lose its shape in transit. We build every box to the diameter you bake, so the pie fits snug with just enough clearance for easy loading.
Standard sizing runs from around 9 inches for a personal pie up to 18 inches for a large, which covers most pizzeria menus. Specialty menus need something different: rectangle boxes for Detroit and Sicilian styles, slice boxes and half-moon calzone boxes for by-the-slice counters.
Pizza box sizes at a glance
| Box size | Typical pie · common use |
|---|---|
| 9"–10" | Personal · lunch specials, kids' menus |
| 12" | Medium · the most common size on most menus |
| 14"–16" | Large · standard family order |
| 18" | Extra large · group orders, sharing sizes |
| Up to 18 × 26" | Party sheet · catering, events, office orders |
Party-sheet boxes are a different structural build from a square box scaled up, so they need to be specified rather than assumed. If you run a catering or party size, tell us at the quote stage and we'll build the dieline around it.
Vent count and placement matter more than most operators expect. Order a physical prototype and test it with a real pizza before committing to a full run.
Materials that perform
Flute grade is the main technical decision in a pizza box, and it's a trade-off rather than a better-versus-worse choice. E-flute has a thinner wall, around 1.5mm, with a flatter, smoother surface, so print holds detail better: cleaner logo edges and less washboarding across large solid areas. B-flute is roughly double the wall at around 3mm, with noticeably better resistance to crushing and stacking loads.
The practical rule: if most of your volume is delivery, favor B-flute and design artwork that works on a slightly rougher surface. If most of your volume is counter pickup or dine-in takeaway that doesn't get stacked deep, E-flute lets your print look sharper. Kraft gives a recyclable, natural-brown look, and stocks run from 10pt to 28pt.
Grease resistance is the other half of the job. A grease-resistant liner or coating on the inside face stops oil soaking through, but the coating decides whether the box can be recycled. Research by WestRock with The Recycling Partnership found that typical pizza grease, around 1–2% by weight, is well under the level that interferes with paper recycling.
If recyclability is part of your brand, choose a repulpable grease-resistant treatment over wax and keep gloss coverage restrained. Explore eco-conscious options with FSC-friendly board and water-based inks.
Branding and bulk orders
Most suppliers sell pizza boxes in bundles of fifty, with a minimum of several bundles per order. That works for an established multi-location operation, but it's a real barrier for one new location that wants to check the artwork and size first.
There's no minimum order here. Order what a single location needs for its first week, confirm the box works in practice, then move to bundle scale. The same applies to seasonal designs and limited-time promos.
When you're ready for volume, bulk orders bring a lower cost per box. Every order, large or small, ships free and is tracked to your door on the turnaround we quote. We manufacture direct and ship to 100+ countries.
